In the summer of 2009, Pavlue took over a Hudson, WI Senior American Legion team who had won just 3 games the previous season and led them to 11 victories in 2009 and 13 victories and a 3rd place finish in the Wisconsin AAA American Legion Regional Tournament in 2010.  During his time with Hudson, Pavlue assisted numerous players secure spots on collegiate baseball rosters at various levels of play.

After graduating from Minnesota, Pavlue joined the baseball coaching staff at Minnesota State University(NCAA DII) in Mankato, MN as an assistant coach.  Pavlue was responsible for the team's outfielders, as well as instructing the hitters and baserunners, along with recruiting and youth camp responsibilities.

In the winter of 2010, Pavlue headed home to join the baseball coaching staff at Edgewood College (NCAA DIII) in Madison, WI as an assistant coach to Head Coach Al Brisack.  In 2011, Pavlue was responsible for the team's outfielders, baserunners, and also served as the team's 1B coach.  Pavlue assisted with recruiting and the organization and implementation of all Edgewood College baseball camps. The 2011 Eagles started off hot with a 5-1 record, but struggled to a 19-21 overall record, missing the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament by 1 game.  Pavlue oversaw the development of Junior All-Northern Athletics Conference outfield selection and Madison LaFollette HS graduate, Jake Zadra, who finished the season batting .387 with 2 HR, 18 RBI, 15 BB and 9 SB.  Beginning in the summer of 2011, Pavlue added the title of Recruiting Coordinator to his position with the Eagles.  Pavlue will handle all aspects of the recruitment process for the Edgewood College baseball program.  In 2012, Pavlue will once again be responsible for the outfielders and serve as the team's first base coach, as well as overseeing the Eagle hitters.  In August of 2011, Pavlue established and oversaw the beginning of Dane County's fastest growing fall high school baseball league, the Edgewood College Fall Instructional Baseball League.
